CodeUp Blockchain Festival NG 2021.

CodeUp Blockchain Festival Nigeria 2021, was organized by CodeUp Africa in
collaboration with WittyHub on Friday October 1st, 2021 at Erhuvwu Afiesere Event, Centre, Effurun — Warri, Nigeria. The maiden edition was done on October 1st, 2020 with the caption as “CodeUp Festival” and Theme : “Code To Freedom”. However, the 2021 edition was the second in series but due to the innovative advancement in Blockchain Technology, we had to named it “CodeUp Blockchain Festival” with the Theme “Positioning for the New Tech Order”.

Registration for participants was opened by 8:00am, as participants started arriving around 7:30am on that faithful day. Decoration of the Hall was done the previous day to the main event day, while the media team positioned all media and electronic gadgets in the morning of the festival day.

However we were hit with a huge challenge that morning as a result of the
breakdown of the event center power generating plant, thus the CodeUp
Blockchain Festival team had to arranged for an alternative power generating set to power all the media and electronic gadgets for the Festival to kick-off pending when the event center power generating plant was fixed. This approach was very successful and the festival started at about 10:00am.
While the registration for participants was made open for all and totally free until the close of the festival, we had several speakers that presented papers on several blockchain topics and these include:

Felix Uloko, a computer Science Lecturer at Veritas University Abuja and CEO of Zoom City Tech, presented a paper titled: Community, Company &
Collaboration.
Gaddiel Nengi Ighota, a developer at Zoom City Tech presented a paper titled:
Blockchain Technology.
Victor Obaro, an Embedded Software and Robotic engineer, he is also the team lead at Nodex ihub presented a paper titled: Future Scope of IoT & its
importance in Africa’s Development.
Soligbo Emmanuel, CEO of profeworld Technologies and Co-Founder learn Beta App presented a paper titled: Developers Operations.
Hampo, JohnPaul the founder of Hamplus Technologies Int’l presented a paper titled: Smart Contract.
Charles Freeborn, a full-time Technical Writer and Developer Advocate for
Protocol Labs, as well as the staff writer for the Python Software Foundation,
presented a paper titled: Introduction to Filecoin.
Fejiro Eni, the Co-founder and Chief of Operations at UNICUS, presented a paper titled: Blockchain.
Cynthia Mamah, an entrepreneur and Representative of 1st Crypto College,
presented a talk titled: “State of Crypto”.

The programme of event was anchored by Olori Ovie, the media team lead of
CodeUp Blockchain Festival 2021, also Victoria Enebilo a Polygon Advocate was on stage and talked about Polygon Nigeria Community, and we had 12 participants signed into the Polygon Nigeria Community on Discord same day.
Thus, we do appreciate Polygon for being the platinum sponsor of CodeUp
Blockchain Festival Nigeria 2021. Other sponsors include Linode & Ethereum. It is key to note that Polygon had a table-stand atthe Festival for participants
enquiries about Polygon. UNICUS also positioned a table-stand at the Festival.

The Festival had a panel discussion, where panelists shared their experiences & expertise that gave them the foreign remote jobs they are doing presently. The panelists include: Charles Freeborn, Ovie Timothy, Okpukoro Jamin and Soligbo Emmanuel. We had in attendance, 279 persons, which include special dignitaries and Blockchain Company representatives. Special appreciation to Her Royal Majesty, Queen Ejiro and Prince John Adjah representing the King of Ogor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Egere 1 JP. Also we appreciate the CEO & Co-founder of Skysenx hub in the person of Mr Laye Eselemo, we do extend our gratitude to Barrister Austin K. Ngwu for attending . Special appreciation to all Speakers & panelists at.

The Festival was fully covered by the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Media Team and thus it was broadcast on Delta Rainbow Television (DRTV) by 12:00noon & 7:00pm on Sunday October 3rd, 2021 & on Delta Melody FM 88.6 by 7:00am & 12:00noon on Monday 4th, October 2021.

At this Junction, I want to appreciate the entire members of the CodeUp Blockchain Festival Nigeria 2021 Organizing team for their time, energy and resources. They include the following persons.
 Mrs Ejiro Adeniyi . O, who was incharge of the arrangement of food and Welfare of participants and team members.
 Miss Alisha Oveto, was incharge of the designs and printing of all the Festival Materials.
 Mr. Olori Ovie, was incharge of the Media and Anchored the programme of
event.
 Dr. Efiri Tamaradeinyefa, was involved in strategic planing of the Festival.

Finally, I salute the president of FUPRE Engineering Student Association in person of Mr Prince Zaks Bagaiya and the entire Executive Committee (EXCO) members for their support. Also the appearance of Miss NUESA National in the person of Queen Egwuenu Joy Uche cannot be forgotten.
